At Horizon, we understand that there are many questions that surround the start of a new church that can make people uneasy and discourage them from considering involvement. So, in an attempt to answer as many of those questions for you as we can we have filled this page with some commonly asked questions and the answers to them as they pertain to Horizon Christian Church. If you have a question that isn't answered here feel free to send us an email.
Who started Horizon and why?Horizon is the result of a clear and distinct call from God that was placed on the lives of our founding Pastor, Joel Young, and his family. God has given them a heart not just for church planting, but for Northern Kentucky and its people. So, after many months of prayer, fasting, and seeking God they began organizing a team and making plans for this new church in the fall of 2007. After nearly a year of seeking resources and building that team everyone re-located to the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area to begin the process of building the church's core group, which we are still in the midst of.
Who is funding Horizon? The easy answer is, people just like you. Horizon is not funded by a church planting organization and does not have a "mother church" that sponsors our efforts. Because of our non-traditional start we have had to rely on a number of individual sponsors and a hand full of caring "sister churches" who wholeheartedly believe in the work and ministry of Horizon.
Do you currently have Sunday gatherings?Right now our Sunday gatherings are a time reserved specifically for the growth and development of our core group. If you are interested in becoming a part or considering involvement as a part of our founding core group we would love for you to join us at a Sunday Gathering. Simply contact our Lead Pastor, Joel Young, to get all the details you will need. We will also be having a series of "preview services" during the fall of 2010 that everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. Times and dates will be available on the HOME PAGE as they approach.
What does becoming a committed part of Horizon look like? You can read about the five core commitments of our church and find out what it looks like to become a part of Horizon's work by visiting our PARTNERSHIP PAGE.
This all sounds great. How can I get involved? If you are interested in becoming a part of our the core group that we are currently building or speaking someone about what that looks like you can contact our Lead Pastor, Joel Young, by phone or email. |
